This digitally printed ramie is semi-opaque and perfect for tops, shirts, light-weight jackets, robes and dresses (if lined). As a natural fibre it’s lovely to wear in hot weather, but many of our customers also purchase this fabric to make trans-seasonal garments.
We’ve been stocking ramie at The Cloth Shop for several years and love the beautiful, and often colourful, prints in what we describe as a handkerchief linen weight.
Ramie is a highly sustainable and eco-friendly fibre that is derived from a plant in the nettle family. It does not require pesticides or herbicides to grow healthily and can be harvested six times a year.
